Somm Service: Introduction and overview

Our goal is a sustainable strengthening of the music industry and we therefore do not view our service offerings as a pure marketing tool to generate new members and partners. Adapting to the needs of the industry and its members, we strive to provide a valuable service for the whole of the music branch as well as to the individual companies. In this way, we see ourselves as service providers, mediators and as a point of contact within the music business. We are continuously working on the improvement of our services.

Our members can profit from a very special benefit that the SOMM offers - concrete support for individual needs. Together with the Expert Committees, we are working hard to provide and keep up-to-date the following industry specific information:

• The unique, comprehensive and meaningful IMIS statistics.
• The provision of an extensive archive that includes industry specific studies, articles, laws and guidelines - the ECP database (Environmental Compliance Platform)
• Intensive training in industry specific knowledge – SOMM training “Certified Music Merchant”

Beyond this, our members also benefit from these additional services:

• Representation of the industry at trade fairs
• Cost-efficient Germany-wide promotions through the internet and through the organization of common events and activities
• Procurement of legal consultations (also tax-based), lawyers, tax accountants and tax experts.
