The European School Music Prize 2012

The Society of Music Merchants is sponsoring for 2012 for the second time running the European School Music Prize Contest and thereby once again shows its support for the promotion of active music-making.

Wanted are once again good examples of creative and methodical work done in the classromm and study groups where active music making with musical instruments takes center stage and motivation, independent action, autonomy and teamwork amoung children and adolescents are promoted. The goal is to honor students and schools for their work and instruction and to document this accordingly. The methods practiced at the schools can thus be displayed for others to see and stimulate new ideas, projects and cooperative ventures. The documentation of their work should motivate the participating schools to design and realize it in such a way as to give it both lasting influence and good publicity.
