SUSTAINABILITY IN THE MI INDUSTRY:
Responsibility for the future

Like many other industries, the musical instrument and equipment sector is facing global challenges such as climate change, resource scarcity and environmental pollution. Sustainability is no longer a trend, but an urgent necessity that presents companies with new challenges. Sustainable management combines value creation with values, takes financial interests into account and responds to the growing expectations of end customers for environmentally friendly production.
Although there are currently no standardised approaches or campaigns within the MI industry to achieve a completely carbon neutral sector, there are many pioneering companies that are successfully combining sustainability and innovation. SOMM - the Society Of Music Merchants - is actively supporting this change by guiding companies on their journey to sustainable production and highlighting the importance of green practices in the industry.
The MI industry has the opportunity to lead the way through sustainable production, innovative approaches and targeted action. This will not only lay the foundations for a climate-friendly future, but also strengthen its competitiveness and meet the growing expectations of customers for a sustainable value chain.
